ZHOU Xian, is the University Distinguished Professor at School of Arts,Nanjing University, China, where he was also associate vice-presidentand founding Dean of Institute for Advanced Studies. He is vicepresident of China Aesthetics Association and vice president of ChinaLiterary Theory Association. His research focuses on aesthetics,literary theory, art theory, visual culture and so on. His books,published in Chinese, include Cultural Logic of Art Theory (2018),Cultural Representation and Cultural Studies (2014), The Turn ofVisual Culture (2008), Critique of Aesthetic Modernity (2005), and20th Century Western Aesthetics (2004), and so on. He has publishedmany articles and book chapters in Chinese and English journals andbooks, including Space and Culture (Sage), European Review (CambridgeUP), Philosophy East and West(Uof Hawaii),and Contemporary Chinese Thought(Routledge)etc.He is co-editor of series on humanities and Journal of CulturalStudies in China. He was senior visiting professor of University ofTexas at Dallas (USA 2017), Université d'Artois (France, 2010), DukeUniversity (USA, 2006), Soongsil University (South Korea, 1994). Hefound several exchange and collaborative research programs withPrinceton University, Emory University, Rice University,Georg-August-University of Göttingen, University of Rochester,University of Alberta and the like.
